Having had the privilege of recently attending a conference organized by American Iranians who have bravely fled Iran, I am inspired by their unwavering commitment to freedom and democracy. These individuals denounce the Iranian regime and its support for Hamas. As Senator, I will be fully dedicated to supporting their cause and amplifying their voices. Their firsthand experiences and insights into the true nature of the Iranian regime are invaluable in shaping our foreign policy approach.

During the conference, we engaged in extensive discussions about the dangers of paying ransoms to terrorist states. The consensus was clear: the United States and our allies must never succumb to extortion. Paying ransoms only emboldens terrorists and perpetuates a cycle of violence. As a Senator, I will vehemently oppose any measures that compromise our national security and the safety of innocent individuals.
